I’m Simon Lee, a self-published author with a life-long love of escaping into a good book. Whether it was joining a perilous expedition across Conan Doyle’s Lost World, or strolling through the rolling hills of Tolkien’s Shire, the words never failed to take me away.

Fantasy was my first love, but a ferocious appetite for sci-fi and horror soon followed, indeed anything that offered some much-needed escapism. That’s what reading has always been for me and it remains an important part of my life. From weekly train commutes to lazy summer’s days, the humble book has always been my go-to. I’ve had a number of careers in my life and more than one has involved editing and writing. I’ve always wanted to write my own fiction and have had plenty of experience editing other people’s writing. I’ve written for a living too, but it’s a very different thing writing what you want, not what you are told to.

So, after writing a few of my own short stories, I published my debut novella Whisper Wood for Amazon Kindle in 2021. The sequel, Whisper War, was published in 2024. I live in the North of England, where inspiring hillside adventures are never far away…
